BOTANICAL WALK - MARINE PARK BROOKLYN

 

Date & Time: Thursday, May 12, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Location: Meet at the Salt Marsh Nature Center, Avenue U at 33rd Street, Brooklyn

Guide: Kat Bounds, NYC Department of Parks and Recreation

Event Description: See this large scale ecological restoration project to return high quality tidal salt marsh, upland meadow, and upland forest.  NYC Parks will be planting over 6 acres of upland restoration including seeding in native wildflowers and planting 10,000 native trees and 2,000 indigenous shrubs in April 2011.

 

Please Note: We recommend being properly outfitted- long pants, long sleeve shirt, and wide brimmed hat.  Definitely bring water.  You may also like to have sunscreen, camera, wildflower guidebooks, hand lens or magnifying glass.  Children under 16 welcome if accompanied and supervised by an adult.
